State Basketball Centre

Alloyfold played a crucial role in the redevelopment of the State Basketball Centre (SBC) in Wantirna South, Victoria, by providing high-quality, versatile seating solutions that enhance the venue’s functionality and spectator experience. The SBC, which serves as the home court for the South East Melbourne Phoenix in the National Basketball League, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to accommodate elite basketball competitions, community events, and training sessions. 

As part of the $132 million expansion, Alloyfold supplied 290 Spec Luxury folding chairs, including 250x ABS700 Spec Seats and 40x PS100 Spec Seats, designed for both comfort and durability in high-traffic environments. The ABS700 chairs, with their double-rolled steel frames, self-leveling features, and easy linking system, offer long-lasting strength and flexibility, while the PS100 chairs, ideal for premium seating, provide luxury with contoured cushions and optional armrests and cupholders. 

Alloyfold also provided custom trolleys for efficient storage and transport of the seating, ensuring that the SBC can quickly adapt to various events, from local competitions to elite basketball matches. This contribution supports the venue’s goal to accommodate up to 2 million visitors annually and provides an adaptable and comfortable environment for athletes and spectators alike, making it one of Australia’s premier basketball facilities. 

The addition of 12 new indoor courts and modernized amenities has transformed the SBC into a hub for both local and professional basketball, strengthening its role as a vital venue for the South East Melbourne Phoenix and other major basketball events in Victoria.
