Genesian Theatre Company

With over 80 years of history, the Genesian Theatre has been a cornerstone of Sydney's theatre community, nurturing talent and producing exceptional productions. 

Founded in 1944 and originally housed in a historic church building, the theatre has seen prominent figures like Baz Luhrmann rise through its ranks. After relocating and reopening in December 2024 at St Joseph's Parish Hall, the theatre launched a "Sponsor a Seat" campaign, allowing patrons to contribute to its future by dedicating a seat with a personalised plaque. 

Alloyfold helped create a comfortable and visually appealing seating solution for the new venue in Rozelle.

The Genesian Theatre selected the Mozart Auditorium Seat for its timber back, seat pan, and short armrests, which complemented the theatre’s classic look. Offering a balance of comfort, affordability, and custom finishes such as dark red fabric and wood-like features, the seating matched the venue's traditional style and budget. The installation included 132 Mozart Seats, aisle lighting, and spare seats, designed to enhance comfort and accessibility. 

Through this partnership, Alloyfold provided a high-quality, functional, and cohesive seating arrangement that supports the theatre's ongoing needs and future goals.
